Jekyll & Hyde
Hudebni divadlo Karlin (Music theathre Karlin) in Prague produced the american musical
Jekyll & Hyde in March 2005.
Music is by Frank Wildhorn, lyrics by Leslie Bricuse.
In the main duble role was star Daniel Hulka.
Don Giovanni 2004
Daniel Hulka traditionally stars in the main role in the Mozart´s opera Don Giovanni in the theatre of the Estates
in Prague.
He sang from the premiere on July 14, 2004 to August 3, 2004.
With Dan took part Tomas Bartunek (Leporello), Marian Vojtko (Don Ottavio), Martina Bauerova, Vaclav Sibera,
Jana Sibera, Michiyo Keiko ...
Album Dilem ja
The new Dan´s album launched in May 2004 by Sony Music/Bonton s.r.o.
Music: Michal Pavlicek, Michaela Polakova.
Lyrics: Jan Sahara Hedl.
On the album also sing Lucie Bila (Ochutnej stopy)
and Michaela Polakova (the vocal accompaniment) with Dan.
Excalibur
Dan now take part in the musical Excalibur.
The first night of this musical took place on november 3 2003 in the TaFantastika theatre in Prague.
Dan plays Mordred, the bad son of King Arthur (plays Kamil Strihavka) and the witch Morgana.
The music by Michal Pavlicek, the text by Karel Steigerwald, the lyric by Jan Sahara Hedl and Vlastimil
Tresnak. Directed by Vladimir Moravek.
Les Miserables 2003
Dan sings in the world-known musical Les Miserables. Dan is inspector Javert.
Musical performance is in Goja Music Hall in Prague from september 2003.
Musical is based on the origin novel writed by Victor Hugo. Claude-Michel Schönberg is author of
music. Alain Boublil a Jean-Marc Natel created the origin French lyrics.
Author of the Czech translate is Zdenek Borovec. The director is Petr Novotny.
This musical is wonderfull. No wonder that it is one from the most succesfull world-known musical.
Don Giovanni 2003
In summer 2003 Daniel sang the main role in the Mozart´s opera Don Giovanni in the theatre of the Estates
in Prague again.
Richard Hess was the director this year.
Dracula
The gala first night of the come back musical Dracula took place on March 27, 2003 in
the Congress Center in Prague.
We are very pleasant and happy Daniel Hulka sang the main role again.
The autors of this origin czech musical are: Karel Svoboda, Zdenek Borovec and Richard Hes.
The Last Performance of Musical Monte Cristo
The 444th performance of the origin czech musical Monte Cristo took place on December 21, 2002.
It at once was the last performance this grandiose production that visit more then 500 thousand viewers
from the first night on December 13 2000.
Branik 2002
Daniel´s concerts at the Branik Theatre are already the tradition.
The theatre is not large but it has a very good acoustic and kindly and familiar world.
This year concert took place on Monday November 18.
Cesky Krumlov 2002
In August Daniel´s singer´s recital "Famous musical melodies and opera arias" took place in
the International music festival Cesky Krumlov 2002.
At The Krumlov Castle Dan sang exquisit arias from operas by W. A. Mozart The Marriage
of Figaro and Don Giovanni.
He sang songs from world famous musicals and songs from Daniel´s albums.
Don Giovanni 2002
Dan sang the main role in Mozart´s opera of operas Don Giovanni in the summer season at The
Estates Theatre.
He sangs first night on 12 July and than in six performances.
With Dan take part in this opera the wellknown czech
musical and opera stars Tomas Bartunek (Leporello) and Marian Vojtko (Ottavio).
The performance were unforgettable experiences.
The Czech Christmas Mass
On December 09, 2001 the jewel of Czech Christmas music - Ryba´s Christmas Mass - resounded
in the Prague Castel´s Spanish Hall. The Prague State Opera´s Ensamble, following an afternoon
performance of its staged version of the work in its own building, repeated it in the evening
in concert form at the Castle. Listeners heard Daniel Hulka and other solists.
Autumn 2001
Daniel Hulka started his autumn seassons in September.
Hi realized several concerts besides the musical Monte Cristo performances. Dan´s concert
in the Branik Theatre pertains to uncommon experiences. His concert
in Kosice´s Cathedral was wonderfull too.
Don Giovanni 2001
After successfull appearance in main role of opera by W. A. Mozart Don Giovanni
Dan sing Don Giovanni again this year. With Dan take part in this opera the wellknown czech
musical stars Tomas Bartunek and Marian Vojtko and american singer Priti Ghandi.
The Luck of The Devil 2
We can see the second part of the cinematic fairy tale The Luck od the Devil from February
2001.
Director and author of the cript is Zdenek Troska.
Daniel Hulka plays the robbing and cruel king Brambas in this nice fairy tale.
In main roles take part Michaela Kulkova (queen Markytka), Miroslav Simunek (king
Honza) and Sabina Lurinova (princess Eufrozina).
During February perform presentations of the fairy tale in many towns with attendance
main protagonista.
Musical Monte Cristo
On 13th December 2000 started the original Czech musical Monte Cristo.
Authors of this musical are the eminent persons of czech and international art scene:
Karel Svoboda (music), Richard Hes (choreography and script), Zdenek Borovec (lyrics),
Teodor Pistek - Oscar award (costumes), Daniel Dvorak (scene), Jozef Bednarik (direction).
Main roles: Daniel Hulka (Edmond Dantes, Count Monte Cristo), Leona Machalkova (Mercedes),
Jiri Korn (banker Danglars), Iveta Bartosova (Haydee), Karel Cernoch (abbe Faria).
Performance you can see in Congres Centre in Prague from December 16, 2000.
Musical was created by motif of romance of Alexander Dumas.
Performace promises romantic spectacle with wonderful scene worthy of new milenium, including
the sea.
The album Rozhovor
Daniel finished the new album in October 2000.
The name of this album is Rozhovor (Conversation)
and it is more velvet and optimistic as previous one.
Authors are above all Jiri Skorpik, Tomas Belko, Daniel Hulka, Zdenek Borovec, Lou Fananek Hagen
and Petr Janda.
Don Giovanni
Very pleasant surprise is Dan´s playing the role of Don Giovanni in
the opera of the same name by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the theatre of the Estates in Prague.
Daniel took part in three performances on August 24, 25, 26, 2000.
Dan had the role of Don Givanni studied for the theatre in Usti nad Labem five years ago, but just
before the first
performance, his friends talked him into trying the role of Dracula.
To the Threshold of Hope
On December 1999 Daniel Hulka, as a member of delegation of Czech congregation, visited the Vatican.
He had an audience of the Pope. Within the framework of cultural performance he sang in the St. Peter's Square,
which was decorated with 25 meters high Christmas tree, brought from Beskydy Mountains, as the Czech Republic
had the opportunity to donate it to the Pope John Paul II.
Daniel presented his CD "The Great Jubilee 2000"
to the Pope. The songs, spiritually intented, are sung by Daniel Hulka, Bara Basikova, Marta Kubisová and Bambini di Praga.
Prague - Lucerna 1999
On Monday, December 13, Daniel Hulka's Christmas concert was given in Prague Lucerna.
Many other artists took part in this performance.
During the concert there was christening of book "Five Devils" written by
Daniel Hulka and Tomas Belko.
